Binghamton, NY - our community, our mission

My name is Stephen Blanford, and I'm a recovering addict from Binghamton, NY.

I've lost too many friends to opioid overdose. Most of them died alone - with no one there to administer naloxone in time. By the time 911 arrived, it was too late.

So I started NarcoGuard. It is an early wearable and response-system concept that explores whether sensing, alerts, and future delivery mechanisms could help people reach timely support. Those capabilities require substantial engineering, clinical, and regulatory validation.

I am raising funds for responsible prototype development, documented testing, and expert and community review, with a long-term goal of evaluating up to 80 prototype units.

Contributions support the development campaign described on the linked fundraiser. NarcoGuard NG is not a validated medical device and must not be relied on for emergency detection or treatment.
